How to clean your bathroom

how to clean your bathroom

Cleaning your bathroom is an essential task that we all have to do on a regular basis. However, sometimes we may cut corners, not use the right methods or do one section of the bathroom, which can often lead to the bathroom getting messier again sooner than you’d want.

To help you minimise the stress of this little job and be efficient with your time, we’ve put together some tips on how to clean your bathroom. Check out below how you can do this safely and quickly – you’ll be wonderfully surprised how a little more effort can go a long way!

How should you prepare to clean your bathroom?

To ensure your cleaning is done thoroughly and you don’t miss any corners or hidden surfaces, move all of your products out of the way. You could try placing all of your bathroom products, like shampoos and soap, into a box so you can clean easier.

Move any unnecessary items, such as clothes or glasses, out of the room so that you can properly clean underneath them.

How to clean your toilet:

1. Pour a mild cleanser such as a multipurpose all-in-one cleaner into the toilet and rub it all over the surface with a toilet brush.

2. Be sure to get under the rim and down into the flush outlet.

3. Alternatively use bleach (10-1 ratio) to cleanse your toilet. Bleach does not remove all stains but will sanitise it well.

Take care to ensure you avoid getting bleach or cleaning fluid in your eyes or on the skin as it will cause you irritation. Put gloves on your hands and if any part of your body comes into contact with the bleach, you should immediately wash it with water.

How to clean your bathroom tiles

Keep your bathroom tiles glistening clean with the help of a mild disinfectant spray. With water and heat constantly dripping around your bathroom, it’s easier for mould to appear. When this happens:

1. Spray your tiles with mild disinfectant and simply use a clean sponge to wipe down the tile surface.

2. Afterwards, dry the tiles with a clean cloth.

3. You can throw on some rubber gloves to clean your bathroom tiles, so your hands don’t come into contact with any harsh chemicals.

How to clean your bathroom shower?

Similarly to cleaning the bathroom tiles, you can use normal domestic bathroom cleaning materials on your shower walls and door. After cleaning always rinse with water then wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any cleaning material residues before drying off

All mobility bathrooms at Premier Care are fitted with safety glass on the showers that have an invisible PremClear coating. This feature is an extra barrier that keeps mould, limescale and bacteria at bay for longer.

The coating also means that your shower will look sparkling clean for much longer, with a 99% success rate when it comes to tackling the build-up of soap residue left on your shower surface.

It is important to clean areas such as seals, handles and keep moving parts clear from build up of grime and water deposits to maintain good working order.  Rinse with copious amounts of water and dry the screen with a towel to prevent new water spots from forming. When possible rinse the shower screen after  use to remove soap and other deposits.

DO NOT

  • Do not use scourers or abrasive materials on tiles, shower screens or trays to avoid damaging the finish.
  • Do not use strong or concentrated acidic or alkaline cleaning materials as these may discolour or otherwise damage surfaces.
